Adopt Don't Shop Rescue is a volunteer based non-profit, rescue organization started by Norma Cuadra on March 1, 2017 and incorporated on March 27, 2017.
For many years, Norma volunteered with other rescue organizations in San Diego County.
After years of working with these groups she learned from first-hand experience that there was a greater need to help reduce the pet overpopulation crisis. Many rescues are at capacity with rescued dogs from high-kill shelters, and she recognized the need to start and found her own rescue organization to create room to rescue more dogs, and place them with more families who are ready to make the commitment.
Through her work, she has been able to take in more pets when other rescues were "full", and has been able to place these dogs with foster families and eventually on to their and forever homes.
